Cookie Policy
This policy explains how Veredict uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on veredictlabs.com.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by websites you visit. They serve a variety of functions — from keeping you logged in (functional), to helping website owners understand how their site is used (analytics), to measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
Veredict also uses localStorage — a browser-based storage mechanism — for your authentication session. This is not a traditional cookie but serves a similar functional purpose.
Cookies & Storage We Use
The following table provides a complete list of the cookies and storage keys used on veredictlabs.com:
Authentication Storage
When you sign in to Veredict, your session token is stored in localStorage under the key veredict_auth_token. This token is cryptographically signed by Supabase and used to authenticate your API requests.
This token is essential for the authenticated experience and cannot be disabled while you are signed in. To clear it, simply log out — this removes the token from your browser. Your session remains secure and is invalidated server-side on logout.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymised data about how visitors use veredictlabs.com. This helps us understand which features are most used, where users drop off, and how to improve the product.
Data collected by GA4 includes:
- Pages visited and time spent
- General geographic location (country / region level, not precise location)
- Device type and browser
- Referral source (how you arrived at our site)
- Key interactions like button clicks and scan completions
IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage. We do not configure GA4 to share data with Google for advertising or personalisation purposes beyond our own conversion measurement.
Google Ads Conversion Tag
We run advertising campaigns on Google Search to reach users looking for AI detection tools. To measure whether our ads are effective, we use the Google Ads conversion tag (ID: AW-17905343433).
This tag fires when:
- A new user signs up for an account after clicking one of our ads
- A user completes a key action such as purchasing credits
This tag measures conversions on our own site only. It does not retarget you with ads across other websites, nor does it build a profile of your browsing behaviour outside of veredictlabs.com.
How to Control Cookies
You have several options for controlling cookies and analytics tracking:
- Browser settings: Most modern browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies. Check your browser's privacy settings to manage what cookies are stored.
- Google Analytics opt-out: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being collected by GA4.
- Google Ad Settings: Manage your ad personalisation preferences at Google My Account → Data & Privacy.
- Do Not Track (DNT): We currently do not respond to DNT signals, as there is no universally accepted standard for how these signals should be interpreted.
Note that disabling functional cookies (or clearing localStorage) will log you out of your Veredict account. Analytics cookies can be disabled without affecting core functionality.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies and similar technologies evolves. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
If we introduce new cookies or significantly change how we use existing ones, we will notify registered users via email.
Cookie Questions?
If you have questions about how we use cookies or local storage, we're happy to explain.
