Terms of Service
These terms govern your access to and use of Veredict's AI text detection platform. By using Veredict, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and SYLLABUS PTY LTD (ACN 699 802 492 / ABN 69 699 802 492) ("Veredict", "we", "us", or "our"), an Australian company having its registered office at 2 Tyrell Court, Mawson Lakes, South Australia, 5095, Australia. If you are using Veredict on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.
Service Description
Veredict provides an AI-powered text detection platform ("Service") that analyses text to estimate the likelihood that it was generated by artificial intelligence. The Service is made available via our web application at veredictlabs.com and via our API.
The Service includes features such as:
- AI probability scoring with sentence-level breakdown and highlighting
- Verified Certificates of Humanity — tamper-evident, shareable proof of human authorship
- End-to-end encrypted scan submissions for authenticated users
- Scan history with metadata retention for registered users
- API access for programmatic integration
Important — Probabilistic Results: All detection results are probabilistic estimates only. They are NOT definitive proof of AI authorship or human authorship. AI detection is an inherently imperfect science. Veredict's results should be treated as one signal among many and must not be used as the sole basis for any academic, employment, disciplinary, or legal decision.
Acceptable Use
By accessing or using the Service, you agree that you will not:
- Upload, submit, or process personally identifiable information (PII) of third parties without their explicit consent
- Submit classified, confidential, or proprietary data belonging to governments, organisations, or third parties
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to harassment, defamation, or fraud
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract model weights or algorithms from the Service
- Engage in automated scraping, crawling, or bulk requests that exceed API rate limits
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without a written agreement with Veredict
- Use the Service to facilitate the creation or mass distribution of AI-generated content intended to deceive
- Attempt to circumvent any access controls, authentication mechanisms, or abuse protections
- Impersonate Veredict Labs or use the Veredict brand without prior written permission
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any User found to be in violation of these provisions at our sole discretion.
User Content & Data
When you submit text to Veredict, you retain full ownership of that content. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
Authenticated Users: Text submitted via the web application is stored encrypted in our database to power the Scan History feature. Scan metadata (AI probability scores, word counts, timestamps) is retained for your account history. You can request deletion of your scan history at any time.
Guest Users: Text submitted by unauthenticated (guest) users is NOT stored. It is processed in-memory and discarded immediately after the result is returned.
We do not train our models on your submissions. Text you submit to Veredict is never used to train, fine-tune, or improve our AI detection models. Your content remains yours.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that any text you submit does not contain sensitive personal information, trade secrets, or confidential data belonging to third parties.
